Mary Walinski Obituary

Mary G. Walinski, a beacon of courage and love, passed away on April 21, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. Mary was born on January 14, 1966, in Akron, Ohio, and transitioned peacefully at her home in Newton Falls, Ohio, surrounded by the warmth of her family's love.

Mary was a 1984 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School and furthered her education by earning a certificate in bookkeeping, a skill that served her well throughout her professional life. Her compassion for the love of animals, particularly cats, extended beyond her own pets as she dedicated her time to animal rescue; ensuring that the most vulnerable creatures found safety and care.

Mary's adventurous spirit led her to become an avid camper, a pastime that allowed her to explore and revel in the beauty of the natural world which she shared with her family. Mary's role as a proud grandma to her grandchildren, Linden and Brileigh Coyle, and Oliver Walinski, was one she cherished deeply. She extended her grandmotherly love to all, earning her the affectionate title of honorary grandma within her community.

Those who knew Mary would describe her as a courageous, thoughtful, and loving person. Her strength in facing life's challenges was admirable, and her warmth and thoughtfulness touched the lives of many. Mary's capacity for love knew no bounds, and it was reflected in the close-knit relationships she maintained with her family and friends.

Mary's legacy is carried on by her devoted husband, Brian Walinski and her children, Mellissa Coyle (John) and Michael Walinski (Kristi). Mary also leaves behind her father, Howard Sayre (Jane) and her sisters, Cassandra Fagan (Sean), Dawn Harder, and Emmily Lutton (Anthony).

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Sayre; and her sister, Vickie Sayre, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.

As we bid farewell to Mary, we hold tight to the precious memories she leaves behind. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, kindness, and bravery, and her story will be recounted with admiration for generations to come. Mary's journey on this earth may have come to a close, but her legacy endures in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her extraordinary life.
